This disaster is still recounted as the worst mountaineering accident in Japanese history, and even now, rumors persist that the lingering regrets of the fallen soldiers still haunt Mount Hakkoda during the harsh winter months.

Late at night, while driving across the Jogakura Bridge, I suddenly got goosebumps all over my body as I approached the middle of the bridge. I felt like I was being watched, and when I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw a faint but clearly human handprint on the passenger-side window. I immediately pressed the accelerator, but the handprint did not disappear until I had crossed the bridge.

4. Kido Ai Tunnel (Hachinohe City)

However, when I looked at the surface of the river, the water, illuminated by the moonlight, seemed to glow like countless eyes, looking up at me. Terrified, I threw my bicycle down and ran away.

7. Old Zentana Tunnel (Fukaura Town)

The old Zentana Tunnel, quietly nestled along the old coastal road in Fukaura town, is a haunted spot known for its eerie sense of confinement and unsettling atmosphere. Amid the sound of the waves, I thought I heard a voice say, "Thank you for your hard work..." and I instinctively turned around, but all I saw was a raging, fierce wind.

10. Bonju Mountain (Aomori City)

Mount Bonju, towering over Aomori City, is nationally famous for the numerous UFO sightings, but it is also a long-standing training ground for ascetic practices, and is constantly surrounded by supernatural rumors. It is said that hikers are chased by inexplicable lights, get lost, or experience phenomena resembling spirit disappearances, causing anxiety among climbers.
